E-Buurt

Team Barrio Lobi, headed by Wonam, has won the E-buurt Oost tender for three housing blocks in the Bijlmermeer, Amsterdam. In close collaboration with the existing neighborhood, the team developed a proposal for three building blocks in the redevelopment of the north-eastern corner of the Bijlmermeer. The name of our team, meaning ‘love your neighborhood’, reflects the ambition of our proposal: an ambitious contribution to the urban fabric of the much loved Bijlmermeer. Each block, designed by one of the four architects in the team, is designed specifically for its place in the urban development. XVW architectuur is responsible for the design of block 1A, a low rise block set in the middle of the park and a linking pin between the existing neighborhoods and the new development.

The design aims to offer many casual places for everyday contact that encourage new connections between the new and existing inhabitants of the Bijlmermeer.
